Our Story
The Grindersmen was started in 2005 by John Shriver. John started out in the furniture refinishing industry and decided to change it up. He decided to follow in the footsteps of his Grand Father, who sharpened saw blades by hand.
With inspiration from his Grandfather, his BS degree in Industrial Arts, and hours of research and planning John decided, that saw sharpening was a service he could offer. He got his first Volmer Saw Sharpening machine shortly thereafter and has never looked back. Now The Grindersmen is one of the leading carbide sharpening company in Central Pennsylvania Area.
We pride ourselves in staying up to date, using the latest in carbide sharpening technology and technique to make sure the blades we sharpen stand up to the test.
